Taking Work Home

Written By: Claire E.

We are lucky to have the Bebe au Lait offices in Los Gatos. We are five minutes from home, the girls school, a great coffee shop (Coffee Roasting) and just about everything else.  Our staff love that they can pull on their running shoes during their lunch break and head over to Vasona Park which is just 2 mintues walk away.  We are surrounded by big old oaks and blossoming trees. We even have our very own pond…actually it looks more like a swamp right now, which might explain the lack of  ducks, but it’s difficult not to be inspired around here.

Yesterday, I clipped some of the blossoms, took them home and put them in a really tall vase. – now that is the sort of work I love to take home!

Baby Shower Fun

Written By: Mindy J.

I recently attended a lovely baby shower in honor of my friend who is expecting her first baby (a little girl!) in early May. Old and new friends along with several generations of both the mom- and dad-to-be’s families (who flew in from out of state!) celebrated the occasion with some lively games, a champagne brunch and plenty of “ooohs!” and “awwws” as each gift was revealed.

I guess I’m getting to that age where I’m actually becoming quite a seasoned veteran attendee of baby showers. Though, for as many baby shower games for which I’ve participated, I’ve yet to win! I do have a few favorites, however, that I’d love to share along with a few new ones which I was introduced to last week. If I’ve missed any of your favorites, please feel free to comment with yours!

Two Easy Tasty Tomato Treats

Written By: Alan B.

If you can believe it, I used to hate tomatoes, and refused to eat them for over 20 years. Now, I am in love with them. Here are two similar treats you can make with fresh tomatoes. Watch out…They’re addicting!

Where Has Your Bebe Been?

Written By: Mindy J.

A fun opportunity to share photos of your little ones with a chance to win a free award-winning Bebe au Lait Double Bib!

We put so much creativity and consideration into each one of our products that it is always a joy to spot them in use while we are out and about outside of the office. For instance, my first sighting was while biking a local Bay Area trail. I nearly fell off my bike to turn around when I passed our Blomst Nursing Cover being used as a sun-shade over a stroller. Another time I was heading into a favorite local coffee shop where, sitting directly outside the entrance on a bench as cars whizzed by behind and pedestrians strolling the sidewalk passed in front, a woman was nursing her baby beneath our Kimono Nursing Cover. At that very same shop a few weeks later, the owners of Bebe au Lait came across a group of three new mothers who were all seated around a table chatting while nursing their babies beneath their Bebe au Lait Nursing Covers. Finally, one of our employees is taking night classes and a classmate pulled out a Kensington Nursing Cover during a lecture to nurse her baby!

We would love to see your photos of you and your little one using our products! Photos will be posted here on our blog or in one of our Facebook photo albums and everyone who submits a photo to “mindy at bebeaulait dot com” between March 18 – April 18 will be entered to win their choice of either a Papillon or Valencia Double Bib. The winner will be chosen at random and contacted on Monday, April 20, for shipping details.

I do!

Written By: Claire E.

Bebe au Lait’s Creative Director Michael Cordell said ‘I do’  to beautiful fiancee Erin at the weekend.

Mike has been with Bebe au Lait since the beginning, so it was truly wonderful for us to share in his and Erin’s happiness.

We would all like to wish them a lifetime of wedded bliss!

Claudia enjoying the rain in her PJ's

Claudia enjoying the rain in her PJ's

As I walked my girls to school this morning, I was glad I had invested in some rain boots . It took me back to my childhood as we splashed carefree through the puddles and it made a great start to the day.

Once I arrived at work though, the gloomy weather made the office feel a little dark. I rummaged around in my bag to locate the candle I was gifted with last week at my book club. Once lit, it lightened my mood as well as the office.

Let me explain…
We read the book: Hump. True Tales of Sex After Kids. http://www.humpthebook.com/. One of our book club members had a contact to the author and she agreed to join us for the evening. This was a little disconcerting, given that our ‘Book Club’ actually means we just read the same book and then meet every six weeks to drink wine and talk about everything but the book…now we were to divulge bedroom secrets? Truth be told, this book brought us all a little closer together…I can’t tell you how because “What happens at book club, stays at book club”, but there was wine and a lot of talk about sex. Highly entertaining!

I really recommend the book to anyone who has already had children or as a fun gift to a relevant someone…not for the first time pregnant though!

Kimberly the author gave us this candle and a note inside the match book that said “Keep on humping!”
